In my book, Embracing The Calm In The Chaos, I share the many ways I’ve navigated the trials and tribulations of building a company from the ground up—along with the challenges we face in the world. This week, in a conversation with a friend, I reflected on how my work has always fueled and energized me, keeping me moving even when life feels heavy—whether it’s business challenges, family matters, or global crises.
Above photo of my longtime friend, comic, host, musician, show creator and actress in the hit show Nobody Wants This. She has been working her asss off since we met back in my showroom in 2007! In my book, in Chapter 2 ( page 20) she noted, shares her thoughts on the level of rejection that comes with a high-level career. She says "I always say, no matter what profession you’re going into, there will be rejection. And understanding that is super important as you embark on the steps to building your career.” More of our interview can be seen in my book ;) I am so proud of you Jackie!
Amidst everything happening in the world and personal challenges I’m navigating with a family member (which I may open up about one day, but for now, I’m keeping close to my heart), I want to share some sparkle and highlights. At the same time, if you’ve read my book, followed my blog, socials, or this newsletter, you know this about me—I will always stand up against hate, and I will never be silent.
Last week my brand BOY MEETS GIRL® dropped a very special collaboration with our partners over at Strawberry Shortcake and now STICKERBEANS which I announced below over on IG. Good Morning America also gave it sparkle love. Thank you!
Saying I was excited to shoot the campaign for this collaboration—let alone announce it—is an understatement!
My niece—now 17 (us below) but just 5 in the sparkle-filled photo at the top—joined me on set to assist our photographer, my dear friend and frequent collaborator, Sophie Elgort. It was a full-circle moment, as the last time we worked together was when I styled her for a Danskin shoot filled with sparkle. Now, she was the one helping me! She was also thrilled about her stickers—just like me, she’s a true stickerhead.
So, without further ado—join in the sticker collab excitement! Today is the final day to enter our giveaway. Click the image above to enter. Communities are hurting - made up of our colleagues, our friends, & our family. We have to be in this together, and we have to be allies. Our COMMUNITY is hurting. This item is in support of Artists Against Antisemitism (which I am one of the Founding members on) who are raising money and awareness for Project Shema, an organization that’s committed to building bridges through understanding. With our donation, they will be able to subsidize essential training on select college campuses to help students understand anti-Jewish harm and allyship in this difficult moment. This shirt has also been donated to The Gathering for Justice’s which mission is to build a movement to end child incarceration while working to eliminate the racial inequities that permeate the justice system.
And if you are in NYC I will be moderating this panel on March 4th. Check it out and link on the image to join me in this conversation with amazing leaders.
Hope to see you soon and good luck on the giveway.
XO,
Stacy
