Today, sending a virtual hug to all of you. 💖
Right now, this is what I can offer you—plus more valuable resources inside this newsletter.
If you follow my brand BOY MEETS GIRL®, you may have received our newsletter there today too! Be sure to subscribe because that newsletter offers something different from what I share here. But today, I’m sharing some similar thoughts because my heart goes out to all of you in my
who have been affected by the recent and ongoing fires in Los Angeles. I’m holding space for you and sending strength during this difficult time. This past week, I visited my mother, and together we cleaned out her closets to send a large box of clothing and essentials to family, friends, and friends of friends who tragically lost their homes and belongings. It was a powerful reminder that nothing in life should be taken for granted. We must cherish every moment and make it a priority to check in on our loved ones.
I also had a few friends in Los Angeles share that they felt overwhelmed by the constant stream of social media posts while wanting to help even more. I reminded them that everyone is doing their best in their own way and that comparing efforts to others isn’t helpful. I encouraged them to step back from social media and focus on what they could realistically do. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference—and that alone is something to be proud of.
I’m sharing resources for anyone looking to donate or support friends who have lost everything. Thank you for spreading the word and
for your incredible bookstore community. Every effort counts. See below for ways to help. 💛Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
