Total Eclipse of the Heart
Where I Stopped Before the Eclipse and Where I'm Heading on Book Tour...
I am not sure if you felt what I felt yesterday. I know
whom I found here on substack was writing when we all ran out to see the Eclipse. I have to say finding one of my favorite artists here on Substack and getting to see her videos is a dream maybe an eclipse in my heart lol. If you have read my book, Embracing The Calm In The Chaos, I give an ode to Patti in my first chapter called DON’T BE AFRAID TO EVOLVE -Learn everything you can about your industry—the world changes, so evolution should be a part of your ongoing journey. I noted on page 2 regarding my fashion inspirations, “Last but definitely not least is singer-songwriter Patti Smith. She’s remained true to her edgy chicness since the seventies and is an unflappable force of nature.”Yesterday, witnessing the rush of people across NYC heading to parks wherever they could find a clear view filled me with hope. While some may dismiss it as frivolous, to me, it felt akin to attending a Patti Smith concert—coming together to bask in her music and share a moment as one. In a time marked by division, those moments in Central Park with my family and friends were rare respites from disagreements, politics, and anger, replaced instead by collective joy. It made me think of John Lennon's plea for peace and the possibility of imagining a world where it could truly exist.
Now, onto my BOOK TOUR. In recent podcasts, I've likened being on a book tour to the exhilaration of NYFW or the warmth of a birthday party. It's a gathering where friends, family, colleagues, and even those who may just follow you on social media or your brand, like mine BOY MEETS GIRL, come together, much like viewing an eclipse—happy and excited to celebrate you and your book. While not every book event draws lines around the corner, I've been blessed with an incredible journey on my book tour. I am taking you down memory lane from some of the stops and press in case you missed them and where I am headed on MY BIRTHDAY, MAY 20th! I hope to see you all there to celebrate.
Thank you for having me on your podcasts, featuring me on your shows and magazines, and coming to my events!!!!! THANK YOU!

So now you see where I was before the Eclipse… join me in Chicago with the amazing
and two events on my Birthday in my childhood hometown. Thanks to Zibby and her incredible team for putting this all together. Zibby has been on tour for her book Blank and we joined forces on this tee to commemorate her world tour. The amount of IRL stops she is doing all together truly felt like a rock star on a concert tour to me so she deserves this shirt. I will be rocking this when I see you!Click on all the images to take you to get tickets for these events. Thank you!
ONE LAST REQUEST… I know I have sold a lot of books all over the world and your reviews mean the world to me. PLEASE PLEASE make sure to leave a review wherever you can. Reviews help this first-time author so much.
