From the Sidelines to the Studio: Inspiring a Soccer Mom to Start Her Podcast
We met at a 6 AM travel soccer game… inspired by my book, she started a podcast and invited me on!
Not to brag, but I truly love being interviewed on podcasts! I'm passionate about sharing my journey and insights to help someone on their entrepreneurial journey. Before the pandemic, I co-hosted the podcast #MOMSGOTTHIS with Michelle Park, which ran for three seasons and had over 200 episodes. We highlighted the stories of 70+ incredible women—and some amazing men—who balanced business motherhood, being a parent and entrepreneur.
A while back
wrote in Forbes “#MOMSGOTTHIS - I love a bite-sized podcast with the right amount of heft. Michelle Park and Stacy Igel interview inspiring and accomplished entrepreneurs, artists, and entertainers who also happen to have small humans. They divide each interview up into segments that are released throughout the week with topics like career, work-life balance, saving the day and self-care. This is my go-to when I have fifteen minutes in between job stuff, life stuff and mom stuff.” This was a special shout out so thank you Jo we will always be grateful for this.So when my new friend and fellow soccer mom and I met last year in New Jersey during a 6 AM travel game—right after I tripped over her in my new UGGS—a new friendship was definitely born! 😂
Stephanie had previously worked in PR before stepping back to focus on being present for her children. Funny enough, we must have crossed paths at countless events during her PR days, but sometimes life brings the right people into your life at just the right moment.
When Stephanie shared that my book, EMBRACING THE CALM IN THE CHAOS, inspired her to start her own podcast and asked me to be a guest, I didn’t hesitate—hell yes! Anything to support you, mama. 💪💕
I’m so impressed with Stephanie! She took the initiative to learn every aspect of producing her podcast—from recording to editing—and I love that she’s keeping it in person, just like how #MOMSGOTTHIS was (which was definitely part of our special sauce!). I’m especially blown away by how she edits her YouTube videos, seamlessly adding visuals to elevate the storytelling. Stephanie, thank you for sharing my story and for all the much-needed laughs along the way! 💖🎙️
