300 new subscribers in the past week—HOLY MOLY. Thank you and welcome to the Behind The Seams with Stacy Igel newsletter. If you have not seen my blog check it out here.
My back went out on May 28th! It tends to do that after the highs of a book tour and a wedding with high heels dancing all night (my baby cousin got married over Memorial Day in NYC and it was incredible). But sometimes, you have to take the good with the bad. Remember the theme song from The Facts of Life? If not, I’ve included it below for you. It made me think of this theme.
A lot of what I do is about ME. Sometimes, it is hard to be all about you. It can take a toll on you, even when everything is incredible. I have loved every step of my book journey and am so grateful for the road I have been on since March 2023.
I am also so grateful for the brand I have been building over the past 23+ years and the work we have done to give back to others. But with building a brand, it is also about promoting, and that falls on my shoulders, of course. If you missed this newsletter on my work trip to Europe check it out here.
The winner of the contest from my last newsletter May 20th, Book Tour, Chicago, WGN TV, and Giveaway is @Audrey Stewart. Thank you all for entering. Audrey, please DM me here so we can send you my book Embracing The Calm In The Chaos and
book Blank. Also, I wore my childhood dream collaboration tee on WGN in this segment below. If you missed this newsletter you can learn more about it here.

5 AM WAKE-UP 🕔 After an amazing birthday and book celebration with 20 other authors at @zibbyowens ’ petite retreat at @americanwritersmuseum and our event at @madstreetbooks, it was an early start!
5:30 AM MAKE-UP 💄 Huge thanks to @magdarodmakeup for making me look awake!
6 AM FAMILY TIME 💕 My father “Dodi” joined my sister Kathy Morgenstern and me as we headed to ABC! Walking into @abcnews studios in Chicago, my hometown, with my family was truly a dream come true.
As a little girl sewing her first skirt in 6th grade, dressing friends, working at the Gap, designing and styling outfits, then moving to NYC to chase dreams… coming back home to share my book and my collaboration with the CHICAGO BULLS Chicago Bulls on ABC was surreal. I am pinching myself while writing this because my gratitude is endless.
Huge thanks to the amazing producer Tony for envisioning this segment with me, to the wonderful hosts who made me feel so comfortable, and to Benny the Bull and the Chicago Bulls for your incredible partnership!
BOOK REVIEWS MAKE ME SO HAPPY. KEEP THEM COMING. THANK YOU!
But, honestly, these reviews help others learn about my book and how it will resonate with them. Each review has a different take on what the reader took from my book and that is exactly what it is intended to do!
Here are places you can leave a book review bookreads, Amazon , barnesandnoble, audible
I taped this podcast the day after I got back from Chicago and Wisconsin, right before the wedding. Yes, I pushed myself, but I was fresh off the plane and felt it would be a great one for you all to listen to. I loved speaking to Heather, who asked me to do this podcast with her over a year ago. The timing was perfect, and I truly loved the interview. Check it out here.
Today on the Dear FoundHer podcast, which I was featured on a while ago (link here), the founder, Lindsay, did a round-up with other entrepreneurs on some of our advice. Check it out here. Honored to be in this round-up.
This happened and I am still in shock. Thank you!
Stay tuned for my special Book Tour recap in Wisconsin and more…
